From Self-Sabotage to CEO Power
If you’re honest with yourself, you already know where you’re getting in your own way. Not because you don’t have the strategy, but because something keeps pulling you back into hesitation, overthinking, and second-guessing.
I’ve seen it in my own business and in the entrepreneurs I work with every day. What looks like caution is often self-sabotage, and it’s more of a mindset issue than a leadership one.
When you’re operating from doubt or waiting to feel ready, you’re not leading your business. You’re reacting to it, and your business will always reflect that.
There comes a point where you have to stop looking outside yourself for the next step and start asking a harder question: where am I choosing smallness instead of leadership? That question changes everything, because it puts the responsibility back where it belongs.
Your business came to you so it could come through you, and it can only grow to the level that you’re willing to grow. That means being willing to look at your patterns and your habits, especially the ones that feel uncomfortable to admit.
Overthinking is one of the biggest ones. It feels productive, but it’s often just avoidance, and the longer you stay in your head, the longer your business stays stuck.
CEO leadership looks different. It’s not about having everything figured out. It’s about being willing to decide and move. CEOs don’t wait to feel ready. They make a choice, take action, and adjust as they go. That movement is what creates momentum. Without it, nothing changes, no matter how much you think, plan, or prepare.
So the real question is this: are you building your business, or are you protecting yourself from growth? Because protecting yourself can look like being responsible or strategic, but it keeps you exactly where you are. Building your business requires you to lead, even when it feels uncomfortable.
This shift into CEO power isn’t something you do once. It’s a daily decision. In how you think, how you act, and how you show up when things feel uncertain. And over time, those decisions are what move your business forward.
