What Are You Really Committed To In Business?
Let’s talk commitment – real commitment. Not the kind we say out loud, like “I’m committed to growing my business” or “I’m committed to making money.” I’m talking about the unconscious commitments behind the scenes that are actually steering the ship.
In this week’s episode of Inspired Choices for Business Growth, I dug into the sneaky ways subconscious commitments shape everything – your decisions, your success, your ability to receive, and even how visible you're willing to be.
You might be shocked to realize that some of your most persistent challenges aren’t strategy problems at all. They’re commitment problems. Maybe you’re unknowingly more committed to staying safe than being seen. Maybe you’re more loyal to your family’s beliefs than your own financial freedom. Maybe, like I was, you’ve got a deep-seated commitment to “working hard” that blocks you from receiving with ease.
Here’s the kicker: these commitments aren’t flaws. They’re survival strategies. But if you don’t examine them, they’ll keep running the show. They’ll have you spinning your wheels, doing all the “right” things… and still not getting the results you want.
So what can you do?
Start by asking better questions like, “What keeps repeating in my business?” and “What would I lose if this actually worked?” and “Who would I disappoint if I succeeded?”
And most importantly, ask, “What am I committed to that I didn’t even know I agreed to?”
This work isn’t always easy, but it’s powerful. I’ve done it myself. I’ve walked through the discomfort of facing my own hidden commitments, and I’ve come out stronger, clearer, and more capable of creating the success I desire.
